This life is full of darkness and light. Without the dark, we wouldn’t know the light. We shouldn’t fear the dark, but it is important to know how to avoid getting stuck in it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Finding my way out of the darkness meant finding my way through forgiveness. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Forgiveness of those who hadn’t asked for it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Forgiveness of those who I might not feel deserve it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Forgiveness of those who never even knew they wronged me.⠀

And the hardest and most important of all…⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Forgiveness of MYSELF.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For all the times I wasn’t perfect.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For all the times I didn’t measure up.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For all the times I hurt the ones I loved. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For all the times I let myself down. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For all the times I had disappointed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For all the times I didn’t try my best.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For all the times I tried but failed anyway.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For all the times I judged others.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And for all the other things – big and small – that make me human, but that do not make me unlovable. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With that forgiveness, comes the light. Little by little, the rays creep in until soon you are basking in the bright, beautiful rays of love and you finally feel at peace. ⠀⠀⠀⠀

These lessons have shown themselves to me time and time again in life. Each time I think I’ve “got it”, another lesson will present itself. I’m now grateful for these opportunities to grow, rather than seeing it as punishment or an unfair situation that is just happening to me.

But as a writer, another very beautiful thing comes through the darkness and the path to forgiveness: I find it makes great fodder for future content. ⠀

People resonate with personal stories. They respond to the things they connect with and we can all connect with stories of finding the light in the dark and forgiveness.

As a heart-centered business, you owe it to your audience to bring your heart to your content and copy. This is one way to do that.

Share your stories.
Share your darkness.
And share how you found your way back to the light.

Your audience will thank you.
